About this programme
The UCF Business Incubation Program has been operating for more than two decades, turning innovation into commercialization in companies that go on to generate jobs, income and tax revenue for the region. It runs multiple locations across Central Florida.
Support spans six areas: business development, business operations, connections to capital, mentorship, workspace, and a focus on keeping the economic impact of growth in Florida.
The program is organized into three tracks depending on where a company is starting from: Launch Your Startup, for entrepreneurs bringing a new business to market; Grow Your Business, for existing businesses looking to scale; and Expand to Central Florida, for outside companies relocating into or entering the region.
How it works
Launch Your Startup targets the 'Traction Phase': early-stage companies still validating their idea, product or service, asking whether the market actually wants what they're building. It runs 12 months, pairing founders with experienced advisors to reach clear problem-solution fit, a defined target customer and value proposition, validated product-market fit through real customer engagement, early revenue or pilot customers, and a repeatable go-to-market strategy. Support covers customer discovery and market validation, MVP development, pricing and positioning, sales strategy, and founder readiness.
Grow Your Business is for companies with proven demand that are ready to scale intentionally, creating jobs, attracting capital, and expanding market reach. It works toward consistent and increasing revenue, scalable sales and marketing systems, operational and financial discipline, talent acquisition and leadership development, and capital readiness for investors or strategic partners, through growth strategy and execution planning, financial modeling and cash flow management, investor readiness, organizational scaling, and corporate partnerships.
Expand to Central Florida, also called the Soft Landing Program, is for established companies, domestic or international, that already have a product or service with revenue traction and operational stability in their home market and want to enter Florida and the broader U.S. market without experimenting. It targets firms aligned with Florida's priority industries: aerospace, defense and space technologies; life sciences, healthcare and medical technologies; simulation, modeling and training; cybersecurity and advanced digital technologies; and energy, sustainability and advanced manufacturing. Benefits include accelerated market entry, local market intelligence, introductions to customers, partners and suppliers, help navigating regulatory and workforce issues, and credibility from association with UCF's ecosystem.
