About this programme
The Fellowship is a one-year, mentor-driven program run by Awesome Inc, a startup support organization based at 348 E Main St in Lexington, Kentucky, designed to accelerate high-tech startups. Awesome Inc's broader portfolio spans 98 companies that have together raised $240.5 million in outside investment and created 1,063 jobs.
Rather than a straightforward grant or loan, the Fellowship bundles mentorship, workspace, professional services, and a modest investment opportunity into a year-long relationship with the startup.
Awesome Inc's Fellowship portfolio runs back to 2012 and spans healthcare, technology, agriculture, and consumer products. Recent cohort companies include TimberSync (a timber industry marketplace), Hogshead (a barrel trading platform), Immersive Hearing Technologies, Airtrek Robotics, and Cyndelos (AI-powered cybersecurity), while past Fellowship companies include Podchaser (podcast database and ratings), Switcher Studio (video creation), GoodMaps (indoor navigation for accessibility), and Swell (a military family mental health platform).
How it works
Fellows get access to Awesome Inc's network of over 85 mentors, visibility to investors, and 24/7 access to Awesome Inc's coworking space for the year.
The program provides pro bono legal and accounting services, pro bono financial modeling and CFO services, web development, video and graphic design help, and a one-hour consultation with Awesome Inc's Director of Marketing.
Fellows also get access to a $25,000 investment opportunity as part of the program's perks.
