About this programme

The Kentucky SBIR/STTR Matching Funds Award Program is run by KY Innovation, part of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development. It gives non-dilutive, reimbursable grants to companies that have already won a federal SBIR or STTR award, matching part or all of that federal funding.

The award is a competitive grant, not a loan or equity investment: the money is reimbursed against qualifying expenses tied to the federal SBIR/STTR project.

Who can apply

You must be a recipient of a federal SBIR or STTR award.

You must be a for-profit company.

You must be based in Kentucky, or willing to relocate to Kentucky.

  1. Watch for the spring round (usually March through April) or fall round (usually September through October); each window stays open for eight weeks.
