About this programme
The Regional Rural Development Revolving Loan Fund is administered by the North Dakota Development Fund (NDDF) and provides flexible gap financing specifically to primary sector businesses located in a community of fewer than 8,000 people, or located more than five miles outside city limits.
The fund supports working capital, fixed asset purchases, real property and equipment acquisition, facility expansion, and inventory, but cannot be used to refinance existing debt.
How it works
For debt financing, the maximum award is $3,000,000, with an average award of $300,000. The interest rate is risk-based, terms run 1 to 10 years depending on the project, the borrower must contribute a minimum 15% equity, and personal or corporate guarantees are required. The fee is 1% of capital deployed plus legal costs.
For equity investment, the maximum is also $3,000,000, with an average award of $250,000. Returns are structured as interest or dividend rates subject to project risk, over a 1 to 10 year term, with a minimum 15% equity requirement but no personal guarantee. The fee is 1% of the original balance plus legal costs.
Applications are reviewed first-come, first-served.
