About this programme

LiftFund is a San Antonio-based nonprofit that makes small business loans, aimed at businesses with limited credit history or collateral that traditional lenders turn down. Its site frames the mission as helping borrowers 'find a way forward' when traditional lenders say no.

LiftFund offers several loan products side by side rather than a single loan type: SBA 7(a) Community Advantage loans, SBA 504 loans for long-term fixed assets, and its own Small Business Loans product available nationwide. Alongside lending, it offers business workshops, marketplace access, and capital readiness tools to support borrowers.

How it works

SBA 7(a) Community Advantage loans are available in 15 states, including Texas, and can be used for working capital, equipment, inventory, debt refinancing, or real estate purchases. Terms run 7 to 10 years, or up to 25 years for real estate, at the WSJ Prime rate plus up to 6%, with no prepayment penalties.

SBA 504 loans are aimed at long-term fixed assets such as buildings, land, or machinery, best suited to established businesses. They require the business to have been operating for at least 2 years, and can fund property purchase or renovation, new construction, land, or heavy machinery.

LiftFund's own Small Business Loans product is available nationwide and can be used for commercial real estate, equipment, inventory, leasehold improvements, supplies, vehicles, or working capital. Rates on this product range from 0% to 17.50%, with administrative fees of 2% to 7%.

Who can apply

SBA 504 loans require at least 2 years of business operation.

LiftFund's own Small Business Loans product targets businesses with limited credit history or limited collateral, and is available nationwide rather than restricted to Texas.

SBA 7(a) Community Advantage loans are only available in 15 states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

How to apply

  1. Start with a free consultation with LiftFund.

Frequently asked

Do I need 2 years in business to qualify?
