About this programme
MACH37 was established in 2013 as a regional economic development effort by the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT). VentureScope acquired majority ownership in 2018 and took full ownership in 2020. MACH37 describes itself as the premier accelerator for information security entrepreneurs and cyber startups, and the name refers to 'escape velocity', the minimum speed needed to escape earth's gravitational field, meant to represent the acceleration a startup needs to overcome growth obstacles.
Since 2013, MACH37 has launched more than 94 cyber companies. 83% of graduates are still in business and 64% have raised follow-on investment. The program was originally Virginia-based but now runs a U.S. Cyber Accelerator based in Washington, D.C. and a European Cyber Accelerator located in the Netherlands, and serves startups, investors and technical ecosystems globally.
How it works
MACH37 runs what it calls a unique 90-day program design (also described elsewhere on the site as a 12-week accelerator), built around product validation and relationship building, structured across five pillars: Agile Entrepreneurship, Bridging Ecosystems, Problem Solving, Tech Discovery and Wellbeing.
Founders get access to a network of experienced investors, funding resources and tailored support, plus mentorship through the program. Startups may have the opportunity to explore financial investment through VentureScope, but the site is explicit that investment is not guaranteed.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the current cohort referenced on the site is Spring 2027.
