About this programme
The FASTER WV Revolving Loan Fund is run by Advantage Valley, Inc., the economic development organization for the Charleston-Huntington region of West Virginia. It lends to private, for-profit businesses that cannot obtain credit elsewhere, filling a gap for startups and early-stage businesses in the Advantage Valley Region.
The fund is meant to help businesses that a traditional bank would turn down, financing real estate, equipment, inventory, and working capital rather than refinancing existing debt or buying commercial vehicles.
How it works
Loan amounts range from $5,000 to $50,000. The interest rate tracks the current Prime Rate, which is variable and published on Commerce Bank's website.
Loan terms depend on use: 10 years for real estate, 7 years for equipment, and 3 to 5 years for operating capital.
Funds can cover real estate acquisition, equipment and inventory, or working capital. They cannot be used to refinance existing debt or to buy commercial vehicles.
Who can apply
The applicant must be a private, for-profit business (or a developer with a binding commitment), located in or conducting activity that benefits the Advantage Valley Region (the Charleston-Huntington, West Virginia metropolitan areas), specifically Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Clay, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam, or Wayne county.
The business must be free of delinquent state debt and must be unable to obtain credit elsewhere on reasonable terms.
How to apply
- Complete the intake form at advantagevalley.com/intake-form/.
- Work with an Advantage Valley business coach to develop the loan application.
