About this programme
The SMART & Advanced Manufacturing (SAM) Focus Fund is a seed and early-stage investment fund for manufacturing-focused startups in Indiana, part of the state's Economic Activity Stabilization and Enhancement (EASE) initiative under the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC). It is managed by Elevate Ventures, Indiana's venture development partner.
IEDC launched EASE with $10 million in response to the economic disruption of COVID-19, aimed at advancing the state's manufacturing sector. EASE is built around three related initiatives: the SAM Focus Fund itself, Manufacturing Readiness Grants, and a Smart Manufacturing Studio Lab.
The fund targets companies developing or integrating smart technologies such as 3D printing, data analytics, and augmented or virtual reality, and also looks for IP-to-commercialization opportunities in manufacturing.
How it works
The fund totals $3 million, with individual investments of up to $500,000 per company.
A minimum 1:1 co-investment match is required alongside the fund's investment.
The fund is managed and deployed by Elevate Ventures on behalf of IEDC, and is listed as available now.
