About this programme

The Mississippi Angel Network is a group of accredited individual and institutional investors, from inside and outside Mississippi, who review fundraising pitches from Mississippi-based innovation companies seeking seed and growth capital. Innovate Mississippi administers the network, which exists to connect emerging companies with investors and address the state's capital access gap.

Innovate Mississippi screens and prepares companies before they present to investors, engaging with roughly 120 companies a year but selecting only 8 to 10 for actual network presentations, so deal flow stays high quality. Three independent regional angel funds also operate under this umbrella: the North Mississippi Angel Fund (established 2018), the South Mississippi Angel Fund, and the Mississippi Angel Fund (founded 2024).

How it works

Companies typically raise $250,000 to $800,000 through the Network. Investors in the network expect a return of roughly three times their investment within three years, or five times within five years.

Who can apply

The company must be headquartered in Mississippi or maintain substantial operations within the state.

Software, life sciences and communications technology companies are commonly represented among funded companies, though this reflects typical deal flow rather than a stated restriction.

How to apply

  1. Complete the intake survey (an Airtable form linked from the Mississippi Angel Network page) to be considered for a pitch to investors.
