About this programme
The Investment/New Jobs Tax Credit Package gives growing Oklahoma manufacturers a state tax credit based on either their investment in depreciable property or the number of new full-time-equivalent jobs they add in manufacturing, processing, or aircraft maintenance. It is administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
How it works
The company chooses between two calculation methods for a five-year state tax credit: 1% per year of investment in new depreciable property, or $500 per new job, whichever is greater.
Inside an Enterprise Zone, or when the qualifying investment exceeds $40 million, the credit doubles to 2% per year of investment or $1,000 per new employee.
Eligibility is determined annually based on the company's income tax returns.
A company that takes this credit cannot also participate in the Quality Jobs Program, unless its qualifying capital investment exceeds $40 million.
Who can apply
The business must be a manufacturer, processor, or aircraft maintenance company.
It must invest at least $50,000 in depreciable property, which can include machinery, fixtures, buildings, warehousing, and substantial building improvements used in manufacturing operations.
Employee counts cannot decrease as a result of the investment.
