About this programme
gBETA at Marshall's iCenter, powered by Quality Insights, is a seven-week mentorship-driven accelerator for early-stage West Virginia founders. It is run by gener8tor in partnership with Marshall University's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (iCenter), and is free, taking no equity from participating companies.
The program is designed to set a path for startups to scale and pursue investment, giving each cohort access to gener8tor's national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners, and investors.
gBETA runs multiple cohorts a year across many U.S. cities, and the Marshall iCenter chapter is one of gener8tor's named program locations. Its Spring 2026 cohort selected five West Virginia startups: BioImaginix (Morgantown), BurqOra (Parkersburg), Huntington Analytics (Huntington), Moffeus (Wheeling), and Parthian Battery Solutions (Morgantown).
How it works
Each cohort takes up to five companies. Over seven weeks, founders get weekly Lunch & Learns on topics like market sizing and revenue models, weekly Mentor Swarms (speed-dating sessions with five mentors), and one-on-one meetings with gBETA coaches.
The program is estimated at about 5 hours a week of structured programming, plus independent work on the business. It ends with an investor pitch to more than 25 angel investors and VCs, and a demo day showcase.
Participants also get access to more than $1 million in deals and perks from vendors including IBM Cloud, Rackspace, Amazon, PayPal, Zendesk, HubSpot, and Microsoft, plus post-program community support.
Who can apply
Early-stage founders building a West Virginia-based company. Selection is competitive; gener8tor does not publish detailed eligibility criteria beyond expecting founders to be committed to actively building their business during the program.
