About this programme

The Kentucky Enterprise Fund (KEF) provides pre-seed and seed stage funding to companies in Kentucky. It is run through Startups@KSTC, a program of the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation, whose stated goal is to build successful technology-related companies in Kentucky.

KEF makes $20,000 pre-seed investments or $50,000 to $250,000 seed stage equity investments in Kentucky-based companies.

How it works

Companies can apply at any time; there is no application window. KSTC's due diligence process typically takes 2 to 3 months to complete.

About 10% of companies that apply receive funding.

Funded companies must provide Governing Documents, Investment Documents, evidence of Matching Private Investment, a Kentucky Based Assertion Letter, and a Side Letter Agreement.

Who can apply

The company must be Kentucky-based.

It should be building a solution to address a specific problem, and be working with customers to understand the value of that product or solution.

The team must be able to uniquely serve the company's customers and build a business around the solution.
