About this programme
The Minority Business Micro Loan Program is a Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) loan program for socially and economically disadvantaged minority- and women-owned businesses, designated as such by MDA's Minority and Small Business Development Division.
Manufacturers, warehouses and distribution centers, and retail businesses can apply. As with MDA's other small business loan programs, the loans are made by Mississippi Planning and Development Districts, Small Business Investment Corporations and Community Development Corporations, in conjunction with MDA, rather than by MDA directly.
Loan proceeds go toward purchasing inventory, working capital, and machinery and equipment.
How it works
The maximum loan amount is $35,000.
Loans may run for a maximum of 7 years.
The interest rate is 4 percent above the Federal Reserve Discount Rate.
