About this programme

JobsOhio Ventures is an evergreen co-investment venture fund, a subsidiary of JobsOhio, Ohio's economic development corporation. It is a $250 million fund focused on healthcare and enterprise technology companies raising a Series A round or later.

The fund co-invests alongside a lead investor rather than leading deals itself, pairing capital with introductions into Ohio's enterprise, healthcare system, and government networks. Portfolio companies include Cleveland Diagnostics (which won FDA approval for a prostate cancer test), Paradigm Health ($78 million Series B), AssetWatch, Neuros Medical, Afference, and Standard Bariatrics.

How it works

JobsOhio Ventures invests through convertible debt or direct equity matching the lead investor's terms. Its investment is generally sized 1:1 with the lead investor's commitment and is capped at 20% of the round; the fund will not exceed a 20% ownership stake in any portfolio company, and it does not require a board seat.

To get funded, a company must first secure a term sheet from a qualified lead investor. JobsOhio Ventures then participates as a co-investor alongside that lead, with a stated approval timeline of within 14 days.

Beyond capital, portfolio companies get access to Ohio's large enterprises, healthcare systems, and government organizations, plus help forming customer and business relationships.

Who can apply

The company must be Ohio-based, or based out of state while maintaining meaningful Ohio operations. It should be raising a Series A round or later, in healthcare or enterprise technology, with prior significant financing already received.

A qualified lead investor must be part of the deal; JobsOhio Ventures does not invest without one.

How to apply

  1. Secure a term sheet from a qualified lead investor for your round.
  2. Submit your deal via the pre-qualification questionnaire on the JobsOhio Ventures website.
  3. JobsOhio Ventures reviews and can approve participation within 14 days, investing alongside your lead on matching terms.
